The Office Fun Facts & 2027 Calendar Connections

Hello fans (and prospective fans) of The Office!

Following are the connections we dropped throughout the calendar. Did we miss some… sure! With nine seasons and 201 episodes, there was a lot to choose from. Also, our Legal Team would like us to tell you that many viewpoints or actions expressed by these fictional characters throughout the series are not shared by Nautilus. We think you know that.

Top 10 Fun Facts (If you haven’t watched the show, number 10 is a spoiler alert.)

  1. If you watched all the episodes back-to-back, it would take approximately 73 hours of non-stop viewing. (Just don’t do it at your office.)
  2. It almost didn’t survive its six-episode Season 1.
  3. The show collected 164 major award nominations throughout the series and won 30 major awards overall, including the Peabody Award, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Emmy Awards, Writers Guild Awards, and more.
  4. It earned 42 Emmy nominations, among its five wins was Outstanding Comedy Series. (It was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series six of its nine years.)
  5. It helped launch or accelerate the careers of Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Mindy Kaling, Ed Helms, and Ellie Kemper.
  6. Even though the series ended in 2013, The Office was the most-streamed television show in 2020, crushing Grey’s Anatomy by 17.7 billion minutes. (When Nielsen released its 2022 streaming report, it used The Office's 2020 performance as the benchmark for streaming dominance. Nielsen noted that Stranger Things amassed 52 billion minutes in 2022, which was still below The Office's 57.1 billion minutes in 2020.)
  7. It produced 14.4 times as many episodes as the original UK version.
  8. Since moving to Peacock in 2021, The Office has been widely credited as Peacock's biggest subscriber draw with analysts estimating it generated 900,000 subscribers and more than $100 million in revenue.
  9. In nine seasons, there were seven Regional Managers, but only one World's Best Boss.
  10. Steve Carell's return in the series finale was kept so secret that many cast members didn’t know until the day he appeared on set. He was left uncredited to preserve the surprise.

We hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane.
